I did it myself a month ago. No weird noises, no adjustments necessary basically just plug and play. I dunno what to tell you about weird noises, I know i didn't experience anything like that.

i don't know about a grinding noise , but a whiring kind of noise is common with drilled rotors when applying the brakes. :drinking:

^uhmmm...I dont think the OEMs are such a good idea with drilled/slotted.
Did you get the ebay rotors or some Supra TT ones???

Im about to do the TRD4life BBK w/Supra TT drilled/slotted rotors.
So I went with EBC Redstuff brake pads. 8)

I did an R1 setup, but i got their generic ceramic pads that they offered. There shouldn't be a grinding noise with them when you don't apply the brakes (there shouldn't be any noise as there should not be any contact). Of course when you first put on new pads and rotors, you need to bed them (10 - 15 high speed stops from like 70mph down to 20 all in a row) to get them to fit. Slotted/vented are going to make a little noise when you apply the brakes but i barely even notice it and that's only with the windows down. OEM brakes i believe are semi metalic, so they will make a bit more noise than ceramics, but still you shouldn't hear anything when your not using them.

If they are making noise when you aren't braking. Check the rubber boots on the caliper pins. If the pins are stuck, than the brakes might be dragging.

How many miles are on the pads?

Do what James states and please clarify if this noise is coming from rolling or braking.

R1 Concepts drilled/slotted rotors are noisy compared to OEM - even ore so with the high-performance pads than with OEM pads (and they create a LOT more dust too!) - but worth the gripping/stopping power they give!

Really? I haven't noticed that much of a sound increase... Then again maybe you heard it more because of the drop top?
