Thanks, I've been looking at their site but I can't remember if I emailed them or not. Anyway, I just did. That's actually where I got my wings west RS kit from when I had the prelude.

It was a Mugen rear spoiler. It was very flat because of how the prelude's body is, so I doubt that it'll look right. However, i wonder if with a little bit of custom fiberglass if it would turn out alright. There's a thought.. My friend is very good with fiberglass work.

Speaking of Mugen, I wonder if they do toyotas at all..

Anyway, KYB got back to me saying that they offer rear struts only. Part numbers are on my first original post. :) I'm.. getting somewhere at least. Baby steps.

VIS racing used to make a knock off. But They've already told me they are selling all of their stuff.

I'll keep looking around for spoilers though. Let me know if you find anything too.

body kits

Postby 47TH_Ronin » Thu Jan 24, 2008 8:06 pm

....i tell ya, I LOVE my solara, but man, they make crap for this car. ive learned that pretty much anything you want to do has to be diy. if i knew how to make a body kit, i would trust me....luckly though, i have the se sport package and to me, the kit that came with my car is perfect. it offers just enough aggressiveness to make the car stand out...especially the front. i love the little fang looking parts. i think all i need to do is lower the car so its ass end isnt so high up and maybe put the bigger rims to fill the wheel well up aliitle more. my personal opinion is, for all you guys that don't have the body kit...just go with the sport kit, or even try to find a custome body shop that can maybe mod the sport kit or make a kit based off of it. that would be aliot easier and cheaper then trying to make a whole new kit.

I will always applaud anyone who takes the time/effort to try to get parts made for our rides! The more requests that aftermarket companies get, the more interest they will see.

Every little bit helps! ;)

Eventually, the Gen 2's will make their way to a younger generation of second/third owners and there will be more demand.

Best of luck and keep us posted!

*PS: FWIW, I got an '07 SE Sport Spoiler which is twice and big as previous years and the current SLE spoilers.

I applaud your efforts.

Try these guys. They make a kit for the Gen 1 Solara. They may make one for the older models as well.

Good luck.

You guys know that there is a bodykit of Gen2 Solara??

http://www.ilovebodykits.com/product/10 ... umper.html

I thinkthat lot of people dislike that EVO style, but I would like to see good picture of a gen2 with it (or parts of the body kit except the nose)..Im sure it would be nice on a black or white Lara.

Keep it going and good luck!

I had a hard time with the gen1 Solara, but we were fortunate to have a few more parts then the gen2. Now that I'm in the IS350, I'm just about in the same boat. Although, there are more available parts then the gen1, but still just as pricey. The only bad thing is that the CPU is soooo sensitive so you have to be careful on any electrical type part. I put in some aftermarket LED taillights, which may have caused a CEL. Lexus has had my car for almost a week trying to figure it out, they even replaced the CPU :-?

I could've went and got the 350Z or G35, but I've always been a Toyota fan. Unfortunately, I had to get a 4-door this time around...

That was a hell of a song and dance from Toyota. Hmmm... all the far reaching implications of "Have a company knock off 100 of each part, sell as package" Oh wait... I forgot the important step of having a flyer in there with crappy instructions.

The kaminari kit essentially just took over from the TRD kit , looks the same and for less coin! Definitely an addition in the future.
