I guess they are still making modifications to make it carb approved.

What about the rest of us who don't live in CA? In KY we don't care about the intake not being CARB approved. I could put one on my car right now if I could get my hands on one! KY probably has some of the worst vehicle emissions standards in the US.
(In KY we don't trust any air we can't see). :D

Haha good one. Well the thing is that Injen will only sell it if it's CARB approved. I know certain states don't care, but that's just how they do it at Injen.

like i said buddy...they r working on emissions problems...paul doesnt have a release date for either intake...and the i4 intake will probably be an SRI. he said the i4 intake will be very similar to that of the V6 :( man..i really wanted a CAI too......

Since the I4 has more room supposedly (I haven't seen the engine bay, so can't really say)…perhaps another company can make an extension as they did for the Gen 1s. Why don’t you 4-bangas start promoting yourself and get some aftermarket companies to look into it? That screams SPONSERSHIPS to me....hehe...

Too bad Toyota decided to close up the opening in the driver side fender to allow an extension to run down for the CAI. I don't know how Injen could run piping for a CAI. I know Paul tried on the V6's, but the only way to run it was to have the filter sitting behind the radiator. So, he dynoed it and it was very disappointing. :( I think if you can somehow open the fender up, you might have a chance.

do you guys know of any aftermarket companies in the dc/md/va area that does these kind of engine mods?? ive looked, but havent been able to find any....if there is one within reasonable distance, id definitely guinea pig a CAI for the I4s. if not, i guess ill have to settle for the SRI. :-?

UPDATE: Sorry guys and gals but Injen held off on the production of the SRI. There were CARB issues that they could not address at this time. Production phase will resume in 1 to 2 years.
