Apparently, they have to much on their plate and the Solara is not a priority. :-?
Maybe someone should try hitting up AEM.

Also, there's still nothing listed on their site, even for the Camry.

NOW it says "2003 SOLARA V6". It said "2004 SOLARA V6" before when drace99 and I saw it. They must have corrected their error.

Since the I4 has more room supposedly (I haven't seen the engine bay, so can't really say)…perhaps another company can make an extension as they did for the Gen 1s. Why don’t you 4-bangas start promoting yourself and get some aftermarket companies to look into it? That screams SPONSERSHIPS to me....hehe...

Hmm..
Has anyone explored the idea of relocating the battery to the trunk? With that out of the way, a simple CAI could be made. (By us, not Injen)

I'd like to see more detailed photos of the MAF flange and any critical vacuum connections.

It sounds like a lot of work, but you guys are just the diehards to figure it all out.

Updating related Injen SRI thread with TC intake thread.

Postby michaels artic frost » Wed May 25, 2005 11:28 am

Re: TC intake/ Gen 2 intake update

michaels artic frost wrote:Not sure if anyone has tried it or not.

Here are some news on the TC intake from Paul at Injen. Paul advised me that although the intake is not CARB certified and the way for them to get around it was to market it as an off-road aftermarket part. He also told me that they sold over 300 TC intakes the FIRST week. Yup, the first week.

That's why there's no aftermarket parts for our cars. Different marketing schemes. TCs are geared toward the younger generation. Not trying to put our solaras down by far. But we must come to a realization that our cars are very nice and classy. For those, that want to mod the solaras; most will have to go the custom route.

Getting back with the Injen intake for the Solaras. Paul did advise me that there needs to be a higher demand for this intake from 02-04 Toyota Camry and 04 & up Solaras in order for them to continue the R&D process. Therefore, Injen may release the SRI for the Gen 2 Solaras as an off-road product as they did for the TC; so that they can get around the state of California CARB issues. It's all about the demand for this.

I hope this will shed some light on the Gen 2 SRI.

I came across this as well... it's kinda ackward because it mentions the 2003-2004 Camry and the 3.0L, yet it also mentions the 2004 Solara 3.3L V6... Check out the link below.

Read Michaels post above. It's mistakenly published in lots of sites. Until you see it from Ingen, ignore it. (and stop getting hopes up) If it ever gets released, it will be '04 - '06 I'm sure.
