Radio aux input

Postby rduke » Tue Oct 26, 2004 5:19 pm

I am considering installing an AUX-BOX or similar device in my 2004 Solara. Can the back of the radio be reached (to unplug and reinstall the connector) by taking out the storage compartment below the radio, and not pull the head unit itself? I would like to minimize the disruption to the dashboard - and the potential for damage to the finish.

What would a professional install cost?

Thanks,

Randy

it cost me a few hundred dollars including the aux cable and they had to take the head unit out as far as i know to reach the plugs, although once it was in, they were able to do some other work just from taking the storage compartment out.

radio connector access

Postby rduke » Sun Oct 31, 2004 7:20 pm

If I pull the instrumentation / AC cluster that is above the radio, can I reach the radio connectors? Without pulling the console, storage box, and radio / AC units? If not I may resort to a professional installer, but would rather do it myself - if it is a reasonable project.

Thanks,
Randy
