Sorry guys - it's been awhile. The new job has me runnin' around like crazy!

No fund$ raised yet... gonna be awhile before I can come up with an extra $600+ since I'm now paying for TWO RENTS until we can find a place up here to move officially... and I don't wanna wait that long either!

On my way to Boston this weekend for a week-long conference... then back for a week and off to Chicago the following weekend. When I get back I might have time to drop it off but not sure about the fund$ yet.

If anyone wants to donate anything, PM me and I'll direct you to my PayPal account. All donations are greatly appreciated at this time! ;)

Thanks - Jeff

Okay - so obviously nobody want these very badly...

I'm taking one for the team here and forking up the $650-700 it'll take to get this bitch dyno-tuned properly... hopefully next week or so.

I'll post results for you ladies when I get them. ;)

Good thing !! Would be nice if they could tune de CP-e instead of doing an other black box...or so

If it works I'll still get a set and strike a deal with Josh for tuning a CP-e map for them. Good sales... free up the exh, gotta free up the intake. Anyone buying the headers would have to get an AFC anyway so get the cp-e pipe and make it a set.

^^ Huh? :-?

I think there's more involved than just the fuel mapping anyway - we'll see when I get it in to Split Second.

Just sold some crap on eBay to pay for the Dyno-tune. Sux but I gotta do something - the bitch is throwing CELs now. :(

Depending on the spit-second model, it's just an AFC and does exactly what the MAFci does. What? Do you think it needs to mess with our VVT-i to optimize the new power? That's about all that's left beyond air/fuel mix.

I assume your CELs are for mix too lean or rich. (prolly rich)

Okay - scheduled for the Dyno-Tuned box tomorrow at Split Second. They'll keep it 'til Friday when I can pick it up and will post the results. I'll be talking with JP Friday as well - should have an update on the entire package by then.

I'm thinking mapping alone.

Also thinking CEL is from LEAN condition, not RICH. (My opinion on headers and free'er flow basis...)

Jeff, what are you looking for in contributions? (Some portion of your $6-7 Franklin's to off-set dyno time and a map for the CP-e?)

Keep us posted.

PS: Mine seems to be running better than ever lately... even the tranny is shifting sharper...

...perhaps the fall weather?

Well the basic bonus in a/m headers is allowing more fuel to be properly combusted. Since cp-e leaned it out, I guess we might need to dump more juice in. Hope it's not too lean of Jeff's burnin' stuff up running like that.

Well guys - got the ride back today but no numbers from the tune yet. :(

Said they had probs getting a baseline to stick or something... I dunno... but when I get back from my next bus trip, I'm going to stop by JP and have them install a new modified Y-pipe to see if we can get more low-end torque back. They think we have too much flow now and the ECU is freaking out.

Anyway - it's at least running smoother now than with the CP-e MAF unit, so we'll see what happens after the next round. I really want this to be done with so we can get these out!! I just hope they don't nail me for another $600 for the next test since we didn't get full results this time! They have their box in there now - should just be a quick tweak and dyno and off we go!

Will update in about a week and a half when I get back.

That seems a bit "off". The ECU doesn't know squat about flow in the exhaust. It has O2 sensors, but no flow sensor. I think the only place where flow is measured is at the MAF. (otherwise the name would be ambiguous... we'd call it the intake maf) 8)

Simplified...
In ---> MAF and TPS
Out ---> timing and fuel adjustments. (VVTi)

From how it was explained to me, is that it can measure back-pressure and change air/fuel mix accordingly - or even shift/rpms. (remember the experience of not running a MAF at all with the CP-e installed? - NUTTY!)

They were telling me how hard it was to dyno a Bimmer - nearly impossible as it knew when the hood was open or not enough airflow through the radiator while running... nearly impossible to get consistent results so the track is the only real test.

Once we get the Y-pipe issue solved and get our low-end torque gains back up, I'm going to schedule time at a track for some 1/4 mile testing and we'll see what kind of numbers we get there as well.

I do notice a much smoother power experience right now and the shifting seems to have smoothed out a lot as well... so we'll see after the next step when I get back from NYC.

^^ First of all - make sure you have a V6. If not... move along.

The Y-pipe is where the headers from the front 3 cylinders connect with the rear 3... hence, a "Y" in the system before the back cat and then out to the muffler.

All mechanical features of the Gen 2.5 (2007+) are identical to Gen 2 (2004-2006) - only some cosmetic changes to Gen 2.5.
