Gen 2 and Gen 2.5 JBL 6 disk changer questions

Postby CosmicGrooves » Sat Jul 12, 2008 5:51 pm

I know the Gen 2 has a JBL 6 disk changer/radio/cassette player.

The Gen 2.5, is what I'm wondering about. It is also 6 disk and radio, but instead of cassette it has MP3, right?

Also, are the lights, colors look the same? The Gen 2 is basically just green illuminated. Is the 2.5 blue or some other color? How hard is it to change the lights colors back to green?

I like that the 2.5 has the MP3 player.

I am working off a bad memory, but hope this helps. I pulled mine out and dropped in the OEM Nav but thats another story.

The 2.5 doesn't have a built in MP3 but accepts the input through an 1/8" jack in the front center console. there is also a 12v acces jack next to it to power devices. The button colors are still green for some unknown reason, while the display is a sort of blue/gray. One other nice feature on the 2.5 is the bluetooth phone adapability with controls for that and stereo on the stearing wheel.

Are you selling your old OEM unit by chance?

Will the Gen 2.5 JBL play MP3's from a CD?
