Hey guys,

Don't know how many of you venture over into the Gen 1 section, but I recently was the guinea pig for a suspension piece made by Malaysia-based Ultra Racing who surprisisngly makes quite a few pieces for our cars. I was a guinea pig in the sense that the 4-point bar I bought was built for the JP/Asia-spec Gen 4 Camry, so it was a shot in the dark for me to buy it, and luckily it bolted up perfectly to my Gen 1 Solara!

Now, as for relevancy to you Gen 2 guys, there is a similar (and much cooler looking) brace available for the Gen 5 Camrys, pics here: http://www.ultraracing.com.my/Bars.asp?ID=2568

So hopefully, with any luck, this should be a direct bolt-on suspension piece for you guys.

As far as the benefits I personally can vouch for the bar on my Solara:

-As I first drove around the car felt more secure, stable, controlled, stiff, and durable.
-Cornering has improved drastically; there is obviously still lean-in, but not nearly as much as stock (Combining this with an RSB would be a big plus!)
-Turning longer sweeps have become even more fun and sporty
-Going over uneven pavement has improved to the point where you don't have to tense your whole body in anticipation of whats ahead; it's much more composed

Just figured I'd pass the info along.

I actually did a google of the part number you gave us (UR-LA4-366) in your original post and came up with this thread at TN. Its about the strut bar and I know somebody on there has tried the lower brace on the gen 6.

Actually, after searching around the UR site more, it appears the brace I posted above might be relegated to fitting on the Asia Spec Camry that is a bit more different than our US Gen 5.

Compare this car Image
to this car Image

In seing that, I saw that there was another category for the ACV36 chassis that has different parts for it (a different 4-point brace being one of the)

I get the feeling this one would be more suited to Gen 2 Solaras seeing as the car in this picture is much more reminiscent of the US-spec Gen 5 (ACV30, which the Solara is based on).

^True. Mine's built the same, just that the 2 outer mount points connect to make a trapezoid. I think it's just the angle of the stock photo UR uses that makes the Gen4 bar look more anemic and puny.

^Cmon PXL, do it! This bar wouldn't be nearly as complicated as the RSB (although I understand your reluctance).

I have Zero ($0) funds right now, so it's not going to happen any time soon. Too many other things I need to replace/repair before putting any more into mods right now. :(

^Ultra doesn't do business with the public. The retailer I bought the bar from was evan@nextgentuning.com Evan Carollo at http://www.nextgentuning.com. He's good peoples.

^Just out of curiosity v6se, which one did you purchase, the square one or the 3/4 trapezoidal one? I'm still not clear which would be a sure fit for our (US) Gen 5s.
