upgraded alternator

Has anyone found or bought an upgraded high output alternator for the 2AZ motor???

if so, how much juice? where and cost??

There's probably some higher rated alt from a Tundra etc. that would have a winch that can be adapted.

the previous gen highlander should have one that fits

Ive searched and the highlander alt is for the v6 motor, I have the 2az four banger...

sooooo as far as I know, there is nothing else other than a
custom ordered one that will be a direct bolt on??

the highlander came in a 2az form as well
i would think they would have a higher powered one compared to our solara ones also?

Iraggi has different amp alts for the 2az. It depends how much you willing to spend

I thought our gen 2 solaras were underpowered! to think that Toyota
threw the motor into a highlander too? geez.

thanks for the info everyone. Ill look into in highlander but I believe I will
go with the Iraggi alt instead.

I know that using a Capacitor, like a 1mf. It does take some strain off the alternator. The capacitor is like a battery itself. It stores then releases energy. Just don't get shocked. It hurts
