Grille-ling on the River Tennessee

Grille-ling on the River Tennessee

Postby jimmm » Thu May 14, 2009 6:41 pm

Ok guys. After work today I took a drive 5 miles past my house down to Ditto Landing on the Tennessee River. Most of the Tennessee River dips down into northern Alabama as it flows from Knoxville area on the east to Memphis on the west. In fact, it's very hard to go in and out of Huntsville, Alabama in any direction without crossing over it.

Of course I wanted to take some good outdoor pics of my new grille with a real camera as promised, but it was at home and I didn't stop for fear I might be distracted and lose the light. So I went on with my cell phone. As you can see, I got only one of the grille where you can actually see it, but I thought I'd share a few of the others I took.

The sun was so bright that I could not really see the pics on the camera screen, so when I emailed them to my computer I was really seeing them for the first time myself. Jimmm

P.S. You can't really see the black splash guards on these pics, but the Desert Sand Mica ones arrived in the mail today. They took only two days to get here. Sweet surprise.

You know what I realized you should try and do? That strip of chrome on the hood is kinda out of place. Might be able to make it gold or something to match the emblems/badges.

EDIT: Or color match it with the Sand Mica.

I don't think I've seen this thread till now. That grill does go nicely with the sand mica.

Howdy, neighbor, 2AZFE FTW. I'm glad to meet you.
I just got home tonight from spending the weekend
down on the Gulf Coast in Orange Beach where I went
to a Bob Dylan concert. It was all that I hoped it would
be. We must meet soon. Jimmm

That's a really interesting thought, Taido. Thanks for the
suggestion. It is odd that it is the only chrome anywhere
on the car really, EXCEPT, the wheel caps on the alloy
wheels are chrome. I've even thought about gold-plating
the wheel caps too. I think I would prefer the strip gold-plated
rather than body-colored, but it doesn't really bother me too
much. Maybe it would look OK the same color as the top
grille too? I'll give it some thought. Jimmm

Thanks, GzNutz. I did noticed that NO one until now
had replied to this thread, even though it is 3 months
old. I think it's cool that all of a sudden it's getting
noticed, and one of the people who noticed it is a Solara
guy who lives in my hometown. That's worth the wait for me.
