it's a cheaper alternative to getting the gen2.5 taillights! I just red vinyl'd the ugly orange part out. Looks great!

Just buy some red taillight vinyl and take your time... makes your car look way cleaner without that ugly disgusting orange!

i dont think thats much of an alternative
the LEDs make the 2.5 lights so much sexier
plus the curve of the actual housing is also less bulb like

I'll agree that LEDs are very nice, but I don't think its worth the time and energy to buy a 2.5 and install it on the increasingly aging solara.
And you also lose the reverse light.
This is definitely an alternative, it's quick, easy and has a noticeable effect.
I'm getting a new car by the end of the year.. i'll be sure to get a car with coveted LED taillights.

Pictures are coming soon.. I'll take some after the gym.

overkill on the pixelate tool. Kinda cool.
The red vinyl makes the tail lights look a little bit more updated..
Yes I have a dirty car.

I bought these tails from Milt. If you use the Tamiya paint in layers, it won't look as dull as these. (Sorry Milt!) And BTW, I wanted the reverse red out. It made the tail disappear into the paint of the car.

Use Tamiya Translucent Red Paint. Model # PS-37.

I used it on my 350Z to red out the reverse lights and brake light lens. You can still see through it.

you can also take some meguires plastix and a high speed buffer and shine up the paint on the tails...This will get rid of the dull redness

PhreakdOut tails look sick, a little piece of vinyl just covering the orange looks tacky , do the whole tail light
