I need opinions for my next mod (intake)

I have decided between two intakes:

1) 04 05 Toyota Solara 4cyl Polished w/MR Injen Short Ram

and

2) K&N Product Information for 69-8609TTK
69 Series Typhoon Kits > Performance Intake Kit

I think #2 is better because it has that shield but the downsides of that product is that it cost $50+ more than the #1 choice.

So which one should I pick for my next mod?

That looks like the better choice for me too, but the install looks harder than the Injen.

Of course I will be installing more engine mods after the intake, with the exception of the intake, the other engine mods will be professionally installed. I am still doing more research on what other engine mods to have installed.

Since I have decided to go to a race track weekly, I thought it would be right to restart my car project again, picking up where I left off.

I haven't challenged myself with a mod install for so long.

INJEN should have included the heatshield in the picture.

Also, how much did you pay for your injen SRI? I searched the web and came up with the price ($250-270).

I'd say the K&N just because K&N guarantees improvement over stock and not to mention it carries a million mile warranty.

i mean if u feel safer with the k&n go for it!!
i only mentioned that the injen has heatshield just to make it fair haha
install should be identical so i wouldn't worry much about the difficulty

It all depends on what "look" you prefer in the engine bay. Both those intakes will probably only give you .5 hp

I prefer the look of the Injen, and when I had an Injen on my Gen1, it came with a heat shield.
