Replacing Neons... What Color??

Replacing Neons... What Color??

Postby wkbrdr91 » Tue Nov 17, 2009 2:17 pm

EDIT: current pics on page 4

So, a few weeks ago my passenger side blue neon decided to rip (the cable) from the seat being moved so much as i drive people around all the time.

I got that fixed, then the drivers side stopped working for no apparent reason, so now that both neons are broken, its time to replace them.

Since i have to replace BOTH neons, what color do you guys think I should go with?? I was personally thinking blue or green, but let me know what you think!!

For those of you without a gen 2... heres what our interior looks like at night:

BTW, advanced auto zone has a 10 bucks off 25 or more till the end of the year, which is what is motivating me to do this asap!

I say Blue.

What if you go with green pulse neons?

I am not a fan of the neon kits but to each his own. :)

^^Then I would say Green is better because your car also have other green areas and matching colors = good.

So i just went by the store, all they have is blue and red for the interior. but now what im wanting to do is put blue lights (completely flexible, comes with 3m tape, and waterproof) around the interior side of my grill to light it up in there... what do you all think????

^^I would like it, especially if you get the hid headlights and fog to match them.

****About your arms, Dayyyyuuuum :o **

Edit: are you planning to add the neon to both sides under the car?

^^I have seen neons in the front bumper before, I don't know if they are waterproof though.

If a bug got on the lights, the lights might cook them a little bit.

id rather have some man hair than be like a 5 foot 3 asian lol.
(im 6 foot 2 and a half, and only 18 )

but ya... i've read somewhere that you can only get in trouble for it if you can see the actual light itself from the front, the blue glow would be considered legal.... but its all in the interpretation of the law...

and it will be directly behind the grill where the Toyota emblem is... it wont ever get hot there, as that is a direct area where wind comes into

They ARE waterproof, i read the package. and LED's dont get hot... they really dont even get warm. and its gonna be BEHIND the grill anyways, it will look like this:

"It is a violation of law (arrestable) to display flashing blue lights or red lights unless authorized by statute. If you are not sure whether you are authorized, you probably aren’t. "
taken from http://www.cityoforlando.net/POLICE/citizen_info/FAQ/faq_legal.htm

I also believe that any light other than stock can only legally be on while parked.

I like that setup, but blue would match the black paint of the car, so blue is cool.

**Green could work but it makes it look like a spaceship.**

**I saw two cars at the strip that had Neons underneath the body (sides), it was blue**
