Yea, HID have been illegal in many states, but not really enforced as much.

I have HID's in my truck and I am lifted 5". But I also aimed the headlights down just a bit so I wont blind people. Having HIDs are ok, but get the correct kind that have the spot shields. This will help with light shooting everywhere and glare problems. I have the light shield on mine and aimed down. I haven't had any problems even if I am right behind a cop.

I have HID in my fogs also but they are not turned on unless I need them. No point in driving with them on all the time. That's why are AUX lights.
