Chances are it will just trick your car into running rich. This would grab you a horse or two. But may end up throwing cels and possible damage to your engine. I'd recommend not installing it.

More like 5¢, it's a 7k ohm resistor.

I bought a Volo Chip that taps into the OBD2 Port. It doesn't trick the computer thinking it is running cold air. They claim that it does not void the warranty. I have been using Mobile 1 Ext Per and I have Engine Sludge. Do you think the Chip is to blame? I only have 35k miles on it.

It also doesn't work. These cars cannot be "chipped." I don't know of too many OBD2 ECUs that can. Just read volo's product description

The VP12 temporarily replaces parts of this map with parts from our highly tuned performance maps, and will safely unleash you engine's full potential, without voiding the warranty.

How is the same map written for 2 different engine configurations going to be safe for either of them? It won't. Please people, start searching the forums or using google before wasting money on these junk parts.
