They should fit fine. Check out this link that slingshot had posted a while back, I found it to be very helpful. It helped me determine if 245/35/20s would fit and yes it does. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Your main concern is the overall diameter and with the size that you are getting it's not bigger than stock, so that should be okay.

if you get the wrong offset, then problems can occur.

im sure gen 2 folks can chime in on what is the ideal offset.
