Two-toned leather suggestions??

Two-toned leather suggestions??

Postby michaels artic frost » Fri Jul 02, 2004 5:21 am

I'm just trying to get some suggestions with this thread.

I was looking to replace my medium charcoal leather and go with a perforated two-toned pearl with dark charcoal.

My only concern is the pearl being in the middle of the seat and it may be hard to keep clean.

go a shade darker than pearl on seats ( center) and charcoal everywhere else.

The lightness of the pearl shoulndt be so noticable on contrast with the dark stuff, making it a lil darker will also save some cleaning maybe

i saw something in the owner's manual about being very careful if covering the seats as the side airbags may not deploy properly?

is it safe to redo them? i wanted to cover mine in leather some day and was wondering if it could be done without comprimising the SRS system...

as for the colors, you are right, the pearl may get dirty a little to easy.....

contact James from ATD online. He has helped out a few solaraguys. I personally am most likely getting 2 tone leather from him.

He is also a member of this forum, but doesn't visit that much

had my two tone done when i purchase my solara (er... within 2 weeks). they messed it up the first time by making the grey area too light and too small (just lower lumbar and under ur butt) so i bitched and had it done again right... a little darker and same 2tone pattern that was in the cloth seat.

Hey jesse789,

Is your two-toned leather perforated or not?

Good luck with your 2tone

The guy that did mine told me about this, eventhough he made a special stitch in the cover for the SRS to deploy, he make me sign a responsability release if the airbags didnt work.

i think your main concern should be was the upholster aware that there are airbags in the sides of the seats and did he stitch it so it will allow the airbags to deploy if needed....

Just tryna get more feedbacks from you guys in regards to two-toned leatha.

Should I do the pearl on the outer and the mist grey on the inner or vice versa and like wise for the Dark graphite and the pearl?

Here’s the 1st color scheme.
