thinking of buying it, he said he'd do it for 50 shipped. i hate the sound system in my car right now cuz its the base one, but in my old red solara, i had the upgraded jbl system, and i was pretty happy with it. it includes all speakers and jbl amp. i guess i would still need the jbl HU tho. what do you guys think?

if youre gonna go through all the trouble to replace speakers and wire amps you might as well go with something of higher quality than the factory toyota jbl system. I once thought the stock jbl system had good sound - but then I swapped in infinitys and installed a headunit.

I dont think you would have to rewire, if you have the wiring that came with the amp.

However, the front speakers are NOT drop in. I got the 4 JBL speakers for 20 bucks off a local ebay, and the screw pattern for the JBL and non JBL stocks are different for the front speakers, so you need to drill to install them. Rear are drop in, but I remember needing to solder the wire because I dont think the wire harness matched the stock speakers.
