I was thinking about getting one........but decided not too. I don't see why it wouldn't fit. Let us know how it turns out.

Thats a real good looking wheel - i just wish that it had airbags

To me, a little style isn't worth not having airbags

TRD steering wheel seems to be pretty common among MKIV supra enthusiasts. but i do believe most of the trd wheel guys without SRS go to racing harnesses.

Nascar and F1 dont use airbags...

^ you neglect to mention that nascar and f1 also support full rollcages and heavy duty harnesses and are designed to protect the driver...

Damn, i was so siked at the look and price of that wheel until you mentioned that it had no airbags, what a buzzkill. I could definately not do anything without airbags.

^^^^ well said and very true...........but all in all, a Solara is nowhere as fast as a Nascar or F1 series race cars.

.....it is the owners option to remove the factory airbag at there own risk....to go for the looks and styling.

....don't get me wrong, I'm neither for or against getting a race wheel without an airbag.....just wanna express the consequences......

It's actually illegal especially in Cali to remove airbags on airbag equiped car. The shop that did Pimp My Ride got fined for removal of airbags on customers cars.

no AirBag

Postby Sentinel » Sat Jun 04, 2005 7:46 am

Yea, for a street car I can't see taking the Air Bag out for a half of a style point. I did see someone that took the wheel from a Celica (With the bumps at 10:00 and 2:00) that had an airbag, and it looked nice.
The bumps look funny, but ever since I've driven with 'em I love 'em.

In some states, if you give consent to remove the airbag your insurance is higher b/c you have less safety features (normally people don't disclose that info to there insurance companies)........ 8)

....then again, driving with no front plate is more noticable then driving with a race wheel.......its all up to the driver and what his preferences are.

I'm sure that the guys that do the show "Pimp My Ride" have policies pertaining to there work......where they are not liable for stock parts being removed with the consent of the owners of the vehicles. I haven't seen a bodyshop that doesn't have signs posted about there policies when you first walk in.......unless its a chop shop........... :o
