time to lower my car. iw as gonna by TRD springs off of RichD but i figured it was better to buy just everything together, i feel it's more secure. nothing implied.
Sorry Rich if I pulled away from the buy at the last minute. ( I know I did that to Jon too :( )

anyways anybody know a good site where I can get good springs/struts that isnt very pricey.. but is still decent in quality?

tockicos with tein spings, just buy the real ones on ebay. costs about 500 or 550, i cant remember how much i paid. The struts are the expensive part. There is no "package" you can buy together unless its coilovers so buy someones springs here and get the tockicos on ebay or elswhere for about $350ish.

wow sorry, didnt even know they had those. I've never seen that package until now, I wonder who makes their springs. I'd just go with that, its the only package I know of and the price is good.

I threw the TRD springs on to my ride, a $208 part price, + around 30 shipping... not bad.

HOWEVER...

I think you need to be aware of your LABOR cost as well. You will have to figure on 4-6 hours shop time, and that could go higher, depending on what all is being done. ADDITIONALLY, you should be thinking about ALIGNEMENT cost as part of the job.

I had my rims mounted and balanced as well as my springs installed and then a laser alignment by a local shop I trust. As a matter of fact, I was there in the garage doing the job together with the tech... my good mechanic friend Greg. (Of course, I was MOSTLY just talking his ear off, and asking questions that helped me learn more about suspension mechanics in general...) Don't forget, although mine is a gen 2, I suspect you may need INTERIOR pieces removed to get at the rear strut mount nuts... (maybe gen 1's are different?) That is actually a bit time-consuming if you don't know where all the x-mas tree clips, etc... are at, and take your time to prevent breaking trim.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the results of your drop. Just for reference, my shop ONLY charged me $381.xx for EVERYTHING, including the stainless valve stems and having to REMOVE and REPEAT the front struts due to a "pulling left" condition that required the TSB for rotating the mounts to be repeated... but the result was PERFECT! I've heard rates run up to $750 for the same work.

Good Luck!
