GB: CP-E MAFci System -- short ram intake w/ fuel management

Postby RPM » Thu Feb 16, 2006 5:10 pm

Greetings everyone! I'm sure some of you have seen us around a bit. We're new the the Solara scene, but we're trying to bring you guys some good deals on some high quality products. And that brings us to this group buy...

Looking around the forums, I've found several threads about the CP-E product. One of the most informative threads is this one:

http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=21689

I'd recommend checking it out. I'll also do a quick summary of the product here as well.

The CP-E MAFci system is not just another intake. It's an intake packaged with a fuel management controller that is pre-tuned for your vehicle. What this means is that you not only get the advantages of a huge 3.5" intake pipe without triggering any CELs, but you also get the advantages of a properly tuned vehicle. Creating a similar setup on your own would be entirely possible, but finding someone to install and tune your fuel management system properly on a dyno could take some effort, and by the time you bought all of the parts and paid for the tuning, you could easily spend twice as much money. This product was purposely designed to be installed by you, in your garage in about an hour and a half to two hours. And when you're done, you get the power instantly. No more tweaking or tuning needs to be done.

So, the question is... If you could spend less than $500 and then with only 1.5 to 2 hours of installation time gain an average of 14.7 wheel hp and 15.4 wheel ft lbs (with peak gains of 17.5 wheel hp and 20.1 wheel ft lbs), would you do it? Well, it's time to find out... ;)

MSRP: $489 + $8 shipping = $497

theRPMstore's price: $469.95 + FREE shipping

GROUP BUY PRICING

This group buy will run from February 16, 2006 through March 3, 2006.

5+ units (including Gen 2 units): $459.95 + FREE shipping
10+ units (including Gen 2 units): $449.95 + FREE shipping

5+ units (Gen 1 and Gen 1.5 only): $449.95 + FREE shipping
10+ units (Gen 1 and Gen 1.5 only): $429.95 + FREE shipping

I hope that is clear. The Gen 2 unit is completely different, so it can't be included for the large discounts. However, I did want to provide some benefit to you guys for the Gen 2 orders. Essentially, you'll get the greatest discount for purchases of the Gen 1 and Gen 1.5 systems, but if the Gen 2 guys buy a lot, you could benefit from that as well.

HOW TO ORDER

Use one of these links, depending on which generation vehicle you have:

Order CP-E MAFci for Gen 1 Solara

Order CP-E MAFci for Gen 1.5 Solara

When you check out, use the coupon code CPESOLARAGB to mark yourself as a participant in this group buy. The discount will initially show up as $1.00. As more orders come in, the discount will be adjusted appropriately. If you pay with a credit card, your card will NOT be charged until the unit is shipped. Additionally, if you place an order and the group buy does not succeed, you will have the option of proceeding with your purchase at theRPMstore pricing or cancelling your order.

Shipping time will depend upon the number of orders received. If we get a huge response, it could take up to 5 weeks for all of the pipes to be manufactured and coated, all of the kits assembled, etc. I'll be keeping CP-E updated on the progress so that they can get things started even as the group buy is in progress.

You said that if payment was chosen as credit card, the card would not be charged until the shipping of the item, does the same apply if Paypal is used?

Any concerns for 2006 models?
Seems that CP-E is still looking for an 06 to test the system in.
I really don't know WTF is the dif between the 06 and the other Gen 2s?

Unfortunately, we have no way to delay PayPal payments. As I'm sure you know from prior experience, PayPal transfers the money immediately upon payment. However, that does not alter anything else that was stated above. Your discount would still be updated (in the form of refunds) and if the group buy failed, you would still have the option of cancelling for a complete refund. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but there's nothing we can do to change the way PayPal operates. That's the main reason why we also process our own credit cards as well.

There very well may not be a difference at all. They most likely just want to verify that nothing has changed, rather than just assuming so. I will contact them to find out if they are still looking for a vehicle.

FYI - 2006 owners
Seems like the system still needs to be tested for the 06 model.
Here is the message that I got from CP-E in regards to the system working with the 06 Solara:

"I wish I could tell you yes but we don't know at this time. We are
still looking for a 2006 to try it out on. Everything is the same. If you
feel like putting a message out on the boards that we are still looking for
one that would be great.

Thanks,
