by 'auto a/c' unit, you mean the premium HVAC with the digital control, right?

while i already have it on my sle, i wanted to make sure, in case others were wondering the same thing.

also, is it just a simple plug and play to switch from the manual HVAC to the digital one? or are the pins different (since there is no need for certain lights on the manual, nor does the manual HVAC need an onboard temperature sensor/relay)

just some random thoughts that i had pop up.

GL with the sale.

The Manual and digital HVAC unit are not a direct swap unfortunatley.

Do you know what's involved with the change up? OK, GO 1500 words or less.

I was thinking of this since the auto control is all I need for mine to be an SLE (long story, I'll explain later)

I'm honestly not sure what is involved as I own a '96 Camry.

But from what I'd think, the plugs are different. There is probable a temp sensor somewhere that would need to be added too. And since the SE uses manual controls, you'd need to add all the motor's to make the "mechanical" pieces work when yuo press the button's.

yeah the auto climate deal, has a few more features I believe than the one in the SE, the knob one. The only difference i can think of off the top of my head would be the outdoor temperature control.

Still don't know what he's selling for sure yet.
I'm gonna look into this and see what it would involve to do the switch. Seems to me that at the most it would a temp sensor and a partial wiring harness. All the plugs if their controlled by knobs or buttons still lead to an AC compressor. That's just my thoughts, but could just be wishful thinking. My unit quit working yesterday anyway and it's going to my mechanic tomorrow. I'll let you know what he says.
So 2K, what are you selling?

someone tried to switch before also (forgot if it was gen 1 or 2)
its not worth it
theres a lot of other things required and the time and money spent just isn't worth it
