$5,000 SC solara in Texas-Price drop

Postby DatSRBoi » Wed Jan 10, 2007 10:15 am

Pics added adding little dings adn scuffs

Small big ding on the rear driver side door, small ding on front right fender side, faded paint on the rear passenger side, Front paint chip with faded paint, One broken bolt on header but is clamp down with no issue, AC condensator or what ever they call it squeeks sometime because maybe expose to water? Car doesnt have the undercover. it goes away after awhile. Idles fine but with AC on it does drop alittle but thats normal on SC since your adding restriction. No CEL, and thats all Iknow for a FACT about my car that is wrong. Unless toyota or someone hide something from me thats all I know for owning it the past few years but Im sure it isnt since I make myself watch alamo and toyota work on my car. Sold as is. Compression is strong, and it isnt about to be blown. Clutch is stock and holds just fine but over time youll want to change it if your going to abuse the car which I really dont. I do granny shift and dont take hard corners. I admit Im a pussy except on the straights which I still get scare in my own car. Tires are brand new and I admit the only thing it needs right now is a good paint job if your going to get it show look. Other then that paint isnt bad. And yeah you can buy aftermarket rims so scuffs means nothing. Headlights are scratch alittle. I did have the black houseing but they were stolen so I have the ugly stock headlights on. The tabs on them are broken and they aim off and cant be fix. Nothing wrong but to some people it gets annoying that one side aims alittle higher then the other side.

These are just little things. No machanical, electrical, handling, or luxury issues. Just cosmetics that can be fixed easily. I jsut dont have the time nor money to do it. Im picky.

School 18 hours. No time for work=No time to take care of the car the way I want it.

Its only seen:
Synthetic oil
Most expensive oil filter I can find
93 octane
When it rains and Im home, it sits in the garage
I take the long way home to advoid little bumps

Yes the car is 97% of the time kept that clean.

Geez guys - I mean, for $5500, just buy his car and take the parts off you want for your ride, return his to OEM and take your time selling it again - and make a profit to boot!

Best of luck Dat. ;)

It still has the solaraguy sticker on the side front window from all the car shows that I never won anything from because the supras always get it first.

Sad but true... I've gotten lots of props from several Supra folk on my Solara however, looks and nitrous equipped and all that. People are always interested to hear the car can be fast. It's just a FWD family car that will never get a ton of recognition. Maybe a little more sooner when they get a little bit cheaper and what not, it'll get into the lower price bracket and kids will be driving them more and more.

No - wouldn't be much if I was anyway - lol!

It just makes common sense to me - if I had a Gen 1 and didn't want specific parts of the car (engine, chasis, etc) but wanted everything else that's in good working condition, then why wouldn't I buy it for that - swap with my OEM stuff (which would have similar miles/age on them by now) and then sell the OEM car locally? ;)
