I find myself hard-pressed to argue with the above sentiment.

Why someone would intentionally choose a graphic that points to their screen name and then signs "loser" is beyond me, but that's beside the point.

Perhaps it's some remnant from a poorly-written statue in the "truth-in-labeling" laws.

how the hell water pump replacement is not recommend. you suppose replace water and timing belt at same time to save your time and money. I replaced mine at 60k miles to keep the optimum performance and just in case.

It's not required at the interval the timing belt is.. that's why. The water pump is good to around 150k and in some cases you can go longer. The only reason most people do the water pump at the same time as the timing belt is because you have to take the timing belt off when you replace the water pump... it's to save you money and to save the mechanics time.. F*ck that. It's not that expensive to get it done later at 150k... hell it wouldn't be more than 200 or so to do that and I have 60k miles before I have to... or whoever buys the car has to. My friend went 180k on his factory water pump to give you an idea.. the water pump is not as big a wear and tear part as the dealer makes it out to be... and like I said the service advisor told me not to worry about it because it looked in good shape and had no signs of leakage or anything.

150K seems like an awfully long interval before changing a piece as critical as a water pump. But hey, I'm used to GM brands and Toyotas could be a whole different animal.

Must have been on the verge.... like I said I have a friend that went 180k on his factory water pump (changed his tbelt himself).

But stay on topic please. My car is for sale.. maintenance has already been done.

Considering this probably the forum in which you'd be least likely to find someone in need of a Solara, allow me again to offer any assistance if you decide to list it on eBay. Remember, if someone buys it locally, you can always cancel your auction.
