Thanks for that year list, gangis! This helps me answer the question above, now. The kit should be H4 single or bi-xenon. It's totally your choice, but you can't run DRL (day-time lights) either way. The current draw is too little.

Got the kit! But whoa... the instructions REALLY don't make sense! I'm having such a hard time figuring it all out!

Well, I finally got it all set up! The instructions were pretty vague so I'm gonna type out the steps to the best of my recollection. Keep in mind that this is a Gen 1.5 solara with 9006, so your mileage may vary.

First, I removed the old bulbs and set them aside. Then I inserted the new bulbs into the sockets. Fit perfectly. There's no bowl or anything to drill through so it was all good.

Next, I installed the ballasts then plugged in the two small plugs (they basically snap into each other) from the bulbs.

Then I plugged the 9006 socket from the bulbs into the ballasts.

I unscrewed the nuts on the top of the battery and installed the positive and negative wires then closed it all up.

I plugged ONE of the original headlight plugs into the relay harness (there's a socket for it, and you only need one. the other plug can remain unplugged without any issues)

Finally, I plugged the last of the 9006 sockets into the bulbs and then laid down the harness so it wouldn't stand out.

Hope this helps!

^ Did you use a relay harness with this setup?

Of course! I mentioned that in the last two steps. Sorry if I wasn't too clear, I'm not good at writing out FAQs.

This is the part that I get confused at. I thought the plug from the relay harness is suppose to go into the ballast. That way the plug from the bulb is not needed to plug into the ballast.

These pictures are my old kit. Is this the same way you have it setup? It seems that the two plugs that from the relay harness is not used from your setup.

Hey, I'm glad you had success in installing your HIDs! Be sure to get some pics up here on the finished result, or on my feedback thread (link in first post).

Well I ended up drawing a picture, hope it helps clarify how it was hooked up in my case.

The part where the relay harness goes to the bulb and then the bulb goes to the ballast and the ballast goes to the bulb doesn't make sense. Doesn't the relay connect to the ballast?

Remember, I'm a total n00b when it comes to this thing but it did work for me. I just went out to check the wiring, and it is as I drew it. I had to do quite a fair amount of guesswork because the original instructions were poor.

Hey, this pic is a lot better than not having one at all. Great job, and I think I'll be printing this off for everyone's kits I ship off in the future, lol!

In that case, let me clean it up to make it look better, hehe.

Edit: Check it out, let me know if it's more legible/makes more sense. I realized I flubbed up a bit where the 9006 wire from the ballast connects to the harness.

Huh... I guess I didn't need to plug the harness into the socket like that, but to the harness... Oh well, I guess the way I have it works, and I suppose it's cleaner too, in that it doesn't leave anything hanging (except for the other OEM plug)

Unless the kit's harness is made diff, but diagram I drew above is what most of the kits on the markets.

If someone can get pics of the actual kit I can only go by assumption...
