bluesolara wrote:anything over 6000k is crap. ...... even 6000k is pushing it a little.

for best output...4100k , all cars with OEM HID uses 4100k, ALL!!!
you might say, why are their HID's so blue/purple, even without projectors? (i.e. Acura TL/CL), the reason is, they are shielded well. so no yellow escapes from the bulb.

Getting ready to purchase my HID lights. Been reading tons of information in the forums and looking up price differences. I found the following items:

http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProduct ... esults.htm

4100K
http://www.xenonking.com/Philips-4300k-Hid-Kit-Car.html

6000K
http://www.xenonking.com/Philips-6000k-Hid-Kit-Car.html

http://www.xenonking.com/Mcculloch-6000 ... t-Car.html

Basically for me it comes down to which company to purchase? I would like to have the ability to change the bulbs from the 6000k (driving around town) to the 4300K (long trips on the freeway) Like the look of the slight blue tint that comes from the higher temps. Just wondering if anyone had an opinon between brands of lights? Not sure which kit to get.

I also couldn't find an intallation guide with pics for intalling these. As far as where people have mounted the transformer and how they tied into the electrical system?

Also based on blue solara's quote Bove has anyone investigated how to shield the light housing better so not as much light is lost therefore projecting more of the light. I got to thinking about this for those of us that have taken apart the light housing to remove the yellow turn signal lense, why can't we sheild the bulb better to prevent light loss? Not sure if there is a way to do that of if it had to be designed when the lense was built. Maybe we could put a layer of foil at the back of the lense
Let me know what you guys think about that.

Thanks.

P.S. Just wondering if anyone posted any pics of the new McCuloch HID light kit yet? I see that the old ones are shown above, but havn't seen the newer ones.
(Sorry for the long post)

I don't trust that brand anymore.
It was suppose to be German brand back then,,
but now days, it's not made in Germany
but made in China., and the price got a lot cheaper and lost its reputation..
I'll rather go with something that was made in Japan, USA, France, Korea.
Cost a lil more... about $100 more but then last longer, and the actually use digital controller than the manual.
