Crappy Gettel Toyota Dealership Again

Since it's the closest one to me, I had taken my car there for a while. That was up until they started to become really sh!tty with service and I started to notice that their employee turnover was faster than a restaurant.

Luckily I befriended a mechanic from there that relocated to another dealer about an hour away since he hated that place too. Great guy, all I had to do was drop the car off and he'd drive it in to work and then work on it when he was done for the day or whatever.

Anyways, back on topic. Between major services I'll take the car to this sh!tty dealership to get basic oil changes and tire rotations since it's quick and doesn't need to be dropped off to the mechanic and the whole bit.

I couldn't get in touch with my mechanic recently and I found out that he just had a baby so I'm sure he's busy with that so I took the car to the dealership again and had it serviced. When they were done with the oil change and all I went to pay and they explained that I needed to have "Timing belt changed $299.95, water pump $250.00, cam/crank seals $140.00, air induction service $139.95, fuel injection service $89.95, and that my trans pan gasket was leaking and valve cover gasket was leaking." THAT'S ALMOST A GRAND THEY JUST QUOTED ME!

They obviously didn't "inspect" anything since I had just had this work done a year ago. They must be going from their computer system or something. True I have to have something else done since there is some leaking. My mechanic said he could replace it next time and it should only be around $100 so I think it was the cam/crank seals or something by the engine block. Anyways, after they gave me that I just paid the $36 for the service and said I'd get back to them on that.

What is air induction service?

Never heard of that one, it sounds like they making up stuff to make you pay more. Typical stealership trick.

Florida Air induction service = $139.95 air filter change.

Ohio Winterize service = $139.95 new window wipers.

Gettel is the Bradenton stealership. Germain is the Sarasota one. I haven't been to that one.

*** I just got off the phone with my mechanic WHEW! He said he can do whatever I need next weekend so that's good. He said it was the Valve cover gasket that needed to be taken care of and maybe check some other type of seal. I'll update this and let you know what he says.

Ugh I hate dealerships!

They make their money by making service recommendations not repairs. When I was a service advisor there was a tech would would write up a list before even looking over the car.
