Hey Aotoyota, sweet system. Do you have any pics of your setup? I had originally anticipated going with Alpine F1 status products, however I really wanted the retractable screen and the TMI-M990 wasn't available yet. Props for the quality bro, you did it as it should be done!

Do any of you guys have a silver dash kit that matches the factory color? I'd really like to see some pics if anyone does so, I want to change my headunit as well.

I wouldn't rely on an aftermarket dash kit nicely matching the factory silver (even if you get it custom made, one of the reasons I went with black)... If you're interested in experimenting (seeing how close you can get it), you can order the silver interior paint from Toyota (it's expensive as all hell for the amount you get), and try to scuff the surface of some pvc samples with high git paper to emulate the texture... Also, even though you may purchase the "exact" color Toyota used, the actual dry color may vary depending on the type of plastic (or wood) you use, how much you apply, and other factors as well, so you may have to try blending it using different techniques. It's definitely doable, just a complete and thorough pain in the butt!

Just a heads up, I've been pondering the same question for a while now, and I may be experimenting with it soon (now that dash kits are pretty easily available on the market). I took all of the above (previous post) into consideration when I originally did my install because there were no kits on the market, and every little flaw is fatal on a custom, so I decided to go with what I knew would be pretty easy to match and still look pretty sharp... I'll let you know how it goes if you're still interested when (if) I decide to go through with it...

Stock-Stereo theft is huge here even though I live in a nice neighborhood. The ghetto fools come by and jack systems all the time. Yeah I park in a garage, but that doesn't stop some of the thiefs. I'm content with the stock sound for now.
