Those two pics are on the 2005 Camry Navigation System. Oh, somebody, please tell me that it's the same as the Gen 2 Solara's navigation!

(I REALLY want the iPod text display...)

WOW, that is the exact same Navigation unit. I really want that IPOD text display too. I was about to buy an IPOD2CAR that doesn't have text display.

Just did some searching on their website. Looks like this might be the product that is still under testing that does what we want.

http://www.vaistech.com/aic100i.html

It will be $369.99 on sale. Overpriced! :o

I would GLADLY pay that... but I'm looking at AVIC-100i A/V Auxiliary Input Adapter with Apple® iPod™ interface (damn, they need better names)...

two birds with one stone... (ipod and video input)

You'd pay greater than $250 more than the IPOD2CAR just to get song title text on the NAV screen?

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I think that Nav unit is different than the nav in the solara. My nav does not have a cd changer in it- and the first screen shot on that pic says cd changer. The part number on THAT unit is e7003 it looks like, the solara is e7001.

The SOlara NAV unit has an auxiliary output on the back to attach cd changers. WHen one is attached or an IPOD is attached using IPOD2Car or another device and the DISC button is pushed, it should say cd changer like in the picture. So I think that unit is the same. One pic says e7001 and the other pic says e7003. Look close.

I just wrote to their customer service to make sure it would work on the Solara. Looks like it is finally ready and in stock.

Apparently, it's out... and there's a group buy going on...

http://www.siennaclub.org/forum/index.p ... topic=9092

The price will be knocked down dramatically depending on the number of people...

I believe this is just the iPod interface, and not the video...

I have signed up, it is currently at 36 people...

* 1-6 units: $369.99 each (retail price)
* 7-14 units: $269.99 each
* 15-30 units: $256.99 each
* 30-49 units: $242.99 each
* 50+ units: $221.99 each

I signed up for it.

IMHO, it's a no-brainer assuming it's compatible.

it could be a good investment to go ahead and snag 3 or 4 of these to retail on here later on.

So what exactly are you buying? All it does is display the ipod text? Will it work on the 6 disc changer AND the NAVI?

You'll have to check out the website for more details... it displays song/playlist information on the navigation... I think song information as CD-TEXT on the CD changer.

42 and counting...
