Painless installation: Composed solely of plug and play harnesses for easy installation, there are no wires to cut or splice – and everything you need for installation is included.

High-quality sound: The unit connects directly through your factory radio’s CD changer port. It is not FM modulated, providing high level input for true digital quality sound.

This so sweet if you're planning on keeping your stock HU. I had the opportunity to test this out with one of my project. Any how, if your stock head unit has a cd changer connection, this is the adapter for you. It's basically an auxiliary to 2 sets of RCAs (not one, but 2). For instance, say you wanted to keep you stock HU, and connect this and run an ipod connection and run another audio source to this, the sound quality is the same as stock. I've noticed some members are using other adapters for their ipods or mp3 player and the sound does not match w/ the current playing of the HU. Well, I've tested this w/ an ipod and it works beautifully. Sound quality matches up perfectly and you don't have to turn up your volume when you're using the auxiliary ports.

You can switch back and forth from the CD changer, the auxiliary audio source 1 or audio source 2 by pressing track up and down once you're in the auxiliary mode.

For $60 bux, you can't beat this.

Just thought I'd pass this along, since I've been in search of an adapter like this and finally found it.

I believe this works for all Toyota that has a cd changer port.

BTW, here's their official site http://usaspec.com/

Don't know if this still works, but this unit was available on Crutchfield for $59.99 w/free shipping previously and a $10 off coupon code. If anyone wants to try it, here is info:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-uXRk0yeESVm/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=227450&I=581DFTOY
coupon code PA139

For anyone interested, others have used this to connect SatRadio units hardwired to HU instead of using the FM

Yup, tested this baby last night as a matter of fact. Works beautifully. I'm telling you, you can not go wrong with this.

I did run into one issue with the ipod sound not matching w/ the stock volume. I can't remember exactly what we did, but we changed a volume loud setting or something on the ipod and it fixed the volume mismatch problem that we ran into when we first installed it. No mismatch after this was done though.

I had them reinstall the oem 6 disc jbl changer last night to test this. I just got rid of the Pioneer AVIC D1 :( ...it just didn't play dvd movies only dvd navigation... :-? :-?

I just got tired of using my external dvd changer. I'm looking for a replacement.

This may be a dumb question, but is this device going to affect the operation of the indash internal 6-disc changer in the JBL premium system (w/o navi) ? The description says that it will work in place of the CD changer, but I'm assuming it's talking about an external CD changer, not the indash one. Any thoughts ?

This does not affect the 6 disc in dash, works great. The cd changer port is an open port. Like I said, this adapter is the best thing I've found w/o having to purchase additional harnesses from Toyota and the sound quality is still superb! :D

^^^ Thanks Michael. I was looking for something like this (at a reasonable price), and the fact that it has 2 ports only makes it that much better.

Just ordered it. I'll let everyone know how my installation goes as soon as I get it.

Any suggestions on feeding an RCA>1/8" wire into the compartment that flips open underneath the ac/heating controls? I'd like to store my iPod in there.

Did you order from Crutchfield? Did the coupon/free shipping work?

I'm a bit confused and slightly worried, maybe someone can help.

I have an '06 SE Sport with the JBL 6 disc in-dash changer. I'm hoping this adaptor is compatible! How exactly do I switch over to my iPod once it's installed, and how does it connect to the head unit. I'm guessing it doesn't go in the SAT input. Can anyone shed any light, I'm hoping I didn't get overzealous and order before I had the facts straight.

Thanks in advance.

Jack

There's a CD Changer port (for external CD Changers) on the back of your system. You plug it through there...

To access the input, once it is connected, hit the CD button or steering wheel mode button and it should cycle through your sources.
