Ipod for Christmas

Ipod for Christmas

Postby drace99 » Sun Dec 25, 2005 7:49 pm

Hi,
I just got an Ipod for Christmas. I did a search for the best ways to hook one up to a 2004 solara without nav, but came up confused...I am looking for the very best and easiest way to hook one up to the stock head unit without navigation or satelite (I do have a SAT button though) Also any diagram would also be helpfull!
Thanks,
Mike

Check out this product: http://www.densionusa.com/icelink_info_toy.htm Dension Ice Link Plus , it might work on your 2004 Solara.

I have installed the VAIS Tech iPod adapter on my 1998 Sienna with Toyota (from a 2005 Camry) OEM NAVI (E7003). The adapter is pricey but the best and easy to install.

How's the intake man!? So are you looking to control it too? There are pricey products out there for the ipod that will talk like a CD changer so you'll get the title text and be able to switch tracks using the steering wheel. it will also charge the ipod while it's hooked up.
Just google around and you'll see it.

If you're not looking for control, the dual input that MichaelT put in the tutorial section seems to be the way to go. Tag me if you need help finding the fancy ipod hookup. I just keep seeing it around but I don't have an ipod so I don't really take note of the brand. But I'm sure I could find it again if I need to.

I saw one called Neo i think, and that one takes the place of your CD player, with this one, can you use your radio, cd player, as well as your/my ipod?

As long as the Ipod is in easy reach, I am not that concerned with steering wheel controls. It would be a bonus though.
By the way...the intake is awesome, sounds like a turbo charger.

Don't know a thing about this one but claims to add controls.

You chould check the manufaturers site since it says '03 Solara but '05 Camry. We should have the same HU by '05, right?

I searched around crutchfield's site and found this one. It seems to have controls plus a charger...

USA spec plus controls!!!

Postby drace99 » Fri Dec 30, 2005 10:41 pm

OK...I took a chance and ordered this interface from Crutchfield

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9gneJUeSCn ... 581PA11TOY
(Also used the code in previous posts, I think PA139)

It works perfectly!!! Easy install (comes with all cables) just plugs into the empty slot on the back of the stock radio and sounds AWESOME!!! It lets me control the Ipod from the steering wheels as well...really cool!

Thanks for all of the input!
