like 3-way speakers? I got 5-way rears, but the front speakers I have to wait until my next paycheck.

Are you speaking of 3-way component speakers (meaning you are going to run 4 channels, and each speaker has a midrange and 2 tweeters), or a 3-way system (meaning your only run two channels instead of 4, but each with a midbass, midrange and high range speaker)?

3-ways...as in an
8" midbass
3"mid
1"tweet

upfront...and if youre wondering.
Dynaudio System 360 or Alpine F1 components

all tri-amped...no xover.

wondering if anyone has that large of a speaker
array for their front stage already and if so, pics or
where the speakers are.

That's what I thought you meant. If you have the money, the Alpine F#1s are the way to go. The 3 ways are some of the best I've ever heard, but a proper setup will run you more than most of the cars on this site are worth... The tri-amping is an interesting approach, but it's a pain in the ass (it will work well, though, if done right). What kind of headunit do you plan to run?

I current run the old F1 CDA-7990 with the PXA-h900 processor plus dynaudio 240GT system was done for a while but I have the itch to change it. As for triamping, that processor can do everything but cook...so definately not worried with that...

Also considering all new F1 too. any thoughts anyone? suggestions or comments?

cheers

Wow, nice headunit and Processor!!

I was using the Clarion DRZ9255 for a short while.

What are your mounting depth/diameter requirements? That would be a good place to start.

Where are you planning on mounting the drivers?

What do you feel is lacking in your Dyns?

What amps are you using?

to answer some questions:

What are your mounting depth/diameter requirements? That would be a good place to start.

8" midbass dynaudio 180 or along those lines. depth is not an issue. everything will be custom but matched to the interior, thinking about kickpanels with the 3" tweet combo.

What do you feel is lacking in your Dyns?

midbass and stage height

What amps are you using? currently Monolithics, soon to be Alpine PDX amps

then maybe 2 tens on the rear deck, 12's if i can fit them. [/quote]

I have "Renaissance (formaly Morel USA)" 3 ways in my 2002 solara.
6.5" Midbass ( http://www.renaudio.com/carstereo/WR-6.htm )
2.1" Textile midrange ( http://www.renaudio.com/carstereo/MR-56.htm )
1.1" Silk dome tweeter ( http://www.renaudio.com/carstereo/triumph.htm )

3 way Crossover : ( http://www.renaudio.com/carstereo/XR-3.3.htm )

I guess you could call it a 4 way system because I also have a subwoofer: ( http://www.renaudio.com/carstereo/canon.htm )

The only way I found to add all three drivers without cutting holes all over the car, and still keeping a well defined soundstage was to put the mids and tweeters in the kick panels. Here is a link to pics of the kick panels I made with the mids and tweeters in place: http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php? ... highlight=

You can have the Seas Lotus 8" made for you(they don't make them anymore) Go to www.mobilesq.com for a price quote.

Then get these

http://www.mobilesq.com/store/product_i ... ucts_id=36

and either the Aluminum or silk tweeters

http://www.mobilesq.com/store/product_i ... ucts_id=37

I'm running the 6.5" and the Aluminum tweeter. Best speakers I have heard to date.

For processing I am using an Eclipse CD8053.

For power I am using a pair of Arc Audio 2100CXL's- Vertically Biamplified.

Then for the substage I'm using a single Arc Audio Flatline 12D2 powered by an Audison LRx1.400

thanks for the suggestions, i think i have decided (for now) on the dynaudio 8" with the alpine F1 mid ( scanspeak) and either the current dynaudio tweet or the alpine type-x tweeter (vifa)

sound like a monster but I put most of the components together and everything seems good.

thanks again.

its not dynaudio's fault you don't have imaging and install design plans layed out properly. more sound deadening and lower xover point for midbass, which will also increase your power handling. put the tweets in the sails to raise the stage. your sound is only as good as your install.

I'm running a 3-way,
Morel Ovation 4" in the kick panels and Morel MCW220 9" midbass speakers in the front doors. All I could say is that there's no need for subwoofers!
