No iPod2Car love for 2006

It looks like the website has finally been updated and those of us with the 2006 Solaras will not be supported with the iPod2Car. :(

Looks like I have to take a trip back to the store to return my brains - didn't have the harness and I figured they hadn't updated their site yet.

Oh well.

HOw is that possible if the 2006 radios are the same as earlier models? I have a 2004 with Nav radio and the IPOD2Car works great with it. Others with non-Nav radio have had total success. Post the link what you're referring to where it says no support.

Where did you find that on the site? I have been thinking about getting one of these, so that would be a bummer.

However, I find that my satellite radio does well for me, might not really need to put my iPod in the car.

I haven't seen any device which works with 2006 Solara for iPOD. Even the P.A.C. iPAC-OEM device won't work. What you can do is buy an Eclipse head unit (many eclipse Head units can be programed to work with the steering wheel buttons!) and the iPOD can plug directly into it.

http://peripheralelectronics.com/pdfs/i ... App2-2.pdf - I also called and chatted with their support line.

They brought in a couple of 06's and tried to get them working. Something in the new sw on the radios made the ipod2car not work so they finally updated the site.

Looks like I am going to have to try the Neo iOn - del=Solara&carYear=2006&productID=519 - They claim support for the 06 and also say they don't disable the iPod interface.

iPod Compatibility for 06

Postby red2002solara » Tue May 23, 2006 7:04 pm

I went to Best Buy and Circuit City. None of them had interfaces that would work for the 06 Solara. Does any outfit make an interface for the 06 Solaras? I have the JBL 6 CD non-navi unit. Thanks

Which Nav unit do you guys have? I believe E7006 (2006 model) still works with iPod2Car.

Anyone have E7009? If so, this unit has a AUX audio input feature built-in.

& can either 06 or 07 Navigation owner check, in the security unlock menu where you override so you can enter destination address while drving, if it spells "Override" or "Over Ride"?
also, if the MIC test works in the Diagnostic mode?

I plan on getting the "ice>link plus" from Dension

http://www.dension.com/icelinkplus.php

I emailed them and it DOES WORK with the JBL non-Nav HU in the 2006 Solara

I've posted this info before on here as well - along with the contact info of the support folks at Dension - Search

* Of course if you wanna play movies and go AV with your Video iPod then do this route:

seany, just 2006? I have 2004 and I can check the "override" versus "over ride" thing if that matters to you...

I had 2004 Solara nav and it spelled "Override". Now I have 2007 Solara Nav, it says "Over Ride". I was just wondering if it's just my unit or not.
But thanx anyway.

Either way, if you wanna check, follow the below sequence if you don't already know how to unlock security lock-out.

Press "MUNU"
Touch "Volume"
Touch Upper Left corner of the screen
touch lower left corner
touch upper left corner
touch lower left corner

then touch and hold "Override" or "Over ride"

Voila! You just unlocked the security lock-out.

PS it's "Override" as you thought.
