Looking forward to the Alpine iDA-X001
I've been holding off on buying an aftermarket head unit since I bought my Solara last year, but this might be the head unit to make me change my mind.
There's no CD slot and is designed for people like me who only use an iPod for their music, I really don't care to have a CD slot considering the iPod features this unit provides. I guess Apple worked with Alpine in creating this.
I like the fact that it accurately mimics the iPod's menu's including genre, album, artist, playlists etc.... and also displays album art. It also has a digital connection to the iPod rather than the analog line out which will definitely have a positive effect regarding sound quality.
The only thing I'm worried about is that it's probably light on sound tuning features given Alpines tendencies the past year or so. I'm willing to sacrifice I guess since I love the features and look of it.
