2006 Nav Disk Update

2006 Nav Disk Update

Postby masksav » Mon Aug 20, 2007 1:13 pm

I know this has been asked before but I still can't find the answer.
What is the most up to date version and part number for the latest DVD nav disk for the 2006 Solara factory nav system. I was told it's 6.01 and the 7.01 won’t be out until Dec 2008. Anybody know the real scoop?

The current version is 06.1. This update was released in January of this year. The part # is 86271-33046 464210-0780. Be sure that on the disc the numbers U21 with the letter D appear above the map of the US. The U21 and D are important because because some discs that are 06.1 will not work in the Solara unit.

This new release does seem to contain more updated maps and POI's. However, I don't see any change in the function of the NAV system.

As to the January 08 release, I don't know. That could be the case since the release before 06.1 was from 2005.

Hope this helps.

If you have a dual layer burner, I've read about successes in authoring a hybrid disk:

Maps from the new disk and software from the old disk...

Can't seem to find the link, but I think it was from siennaclub.org

Masksav, don't know if this will help and I have not read it through completely but it may be what you are looking for. My son has an Es 350 and they have the 6.01 gps. This is a big issue with the Lexus community. Go down to thread #122 and start there.

Hope this helps.

2006 Nav Disk

Postby masksav » Wed Nov 28, 2007 8:34 am

I decided to wait for the latest update disk which apparently just came out and don’t know what the correct part number is for version 7.1. I've searched but can’t be 100% sure I have the right one
Anybody got it?

Thanks for your reply...This is one of the part numbers I also came up with however it appears to not be the correct Toyota part # but an inventory number for a dealer in South Carolina

I was trying to pickup one on the cheap through E-Bay. There's a few 7.1 Gen 4 but they are all U-22's I think the Solara unit is a U-20 I dont know what the difference is if any. My present disk is a 5.1 Gen 4 U-20
