Auxilliary input for factory navigation

I am buying a AxxessInterface (made by Metra) Input adapter so i can listen to my ipod and other inputs.

Its $216 for the TVN-UN (the interface box) and $13.96 for the adapter wiring for the back of the navigation.

Once I'm done installing it, I'll let everyone know how it works.

Anyone tried this brand?

I use the eclipse ipc-106 for my eclipse AVN50D and it works great. Seeing how the factory navigation is similar, if not the same, to the eclipse models, maybe this would work? A cheaper alternative, but it only allows you to play your ipod and not other mp3 players.

You can get this at circuit city for $35 I think and installation is a breeze. Took me less that half an hour.

This will work and is a way cheaper alternative.

philosophicaljt,

Since getting rid of my double din DVD unit and picking up Sebas' 2007 6 disc/mp3 jbl changer. I've had the Metra Axxess Aux/Ipod adapter connected to my 6 Disc JBL and a 7" Panasonic flipout dvd unit...let me just say, it works so nicely. I also have back up cam w/ night vision along with back up sensor so no getting in and out and checking the distance when backing up. I still have the 8" headrest LCD for my two daughters to watch movies as well. Whe the kids are happy, Mommy and Daddy are happy :)

Did all of the install myself, so very happy of that, I try to do most of it myself when I have time. I'll try to get pics later.

Good luck.
-Michael

Michael, where did you locate the 7" flip out dvd if you have the JBL changer?

I've always had dual monitors (double din and single flip out) but with the new set up of the stock 6 disc, I've got better radio reception since I listen to regular local radio stations instead of xm/sirius, anyhow...I still had to have a dvd/monitor for my kids and the back up camera, its below the a/c controls.

Hey,

Just wondering if you've installed this yet. I'm thinking of getting the same thing. Does this make your AUX input jack in the storage compartment useless?

Thanks
