so i put my stereo in today and my "display" shows but when i push the button nothing happens. I did a search and found something about grounding the yellow and gray wires so i looked and couldn't find them. I didnt see the 3 wire harness the other post said to look for.

I had a 2007 with the 6 disc JBL and bluetooth, maybe someone knows where the wires i need to ground are on this setup.

lol wtf, i thought you sold your car for a tc?

anyways, the harness IS there regardless of the 6 disc setup from the 04-06. 07 i can't vouch for.... mine was hiding behind the ignition. it's basically the ONLY 3 wire harness that has yellow and stripes which you ground. it took me 3 separate attempts to find it cuz i kept giving up but im sure your would beno different

yeaa i did trade it in. but after an ice storm a huge chunk of ice fell off of a van and landed on my tC, so I ended up getting another solara. (should have never traded the first one in ) but sh!t happens.

but yea i'll take it apart and look back there again, I looked but not really on the side of the ignition, i expected to be sitting here and staring me in the face.
thanks man

ok so i took it apart again and saw nothing, the only wires coming from the ignition side plug into the HVAC controls.

Ok, see the two plugs in the back (the white and the blue) one of those only has 3 wires in it, and it shouldn't be hooked up to anything currently so it should jsut be dangling there.

Search a bit. That's a common ground issue that can be fixed with a jumper if I recall.

this is the back of my HU, 07 JBL with blue tooth, i cant find the plug that went in the middle connector on the top row (i dont even remember if there was there but i assume there was))

Image

and this is what i saw when i took apart the dash.
the only things that were unplugged and didnt have a "home" were the two that were connected to the JBL amp...they're pulled upfront and out of the picture...the two that are on the front left go to the HVAC. I looked under/behind the steering wheel part of dash and saw nothing that may have retracted back there and nothing that was unplugged.
I dont know.

there is a white flat plug with like 20 pins or something, but there is only 2 or 3 wires on it.
that wire is used to control steering wheel.
u have to ground one of the wire on that plug
