I thought I blew a speaker last week but it was only my rear deck rattling on the bass notes. However if I do blow a speaker in the future I'm definitely not replacing them with JBL's, there are brands out there that can handle lower and higher frequencies more efficiently and would cost alot less. Trust me, JBLs will only seem okay until you sit in another Solara with good aftermarket speakers.

yeah the stock speakers should just have a plug that clips into your speakers, its just a matter of cutting that plug and wiring in the new speakers.

the only forewarning for audio work. it IS addictive. once you start upgrading, it becomes very hard to stop.. or maybe thats just me hah

The day a friend came over from a sub install by best buy and they were out of phase was the day I decided never to trust them.

I've only had one system installed professionally back in '99(ultimate electronics). When I didn't know a thing about systems other than what was picked for me by friends who knew ALOT.

YEAH, IF THAT BE THE CASE, THEN I WILL MOST LIKELY DO IT MYSELF AS FAR AS THE INSTALL GOES.

ANYONE KNOW IF THE REAR IS A BITCH TO GET OFF

Good warning and "addictive" is a good term!!! Upgrading for better sound is like crack except it's more expensive, you're searching for both that next high AND low and your audio dealer normally won't take handjobs in exchange for a top-of-the-line amp........well maybe for a low-grade amp.

Funny, my rear deck speakers just started doing the same thing. I expected more out of JBL. Time to buy some nice Alpines :D What kind of wiring hookup is it? Coaxial?
