I got the 04 JBL 6cd changer on the SLE coupe.

i dont know about anyone else, but i think the sound in this car is amazing. Especially the bass.

I cant see why you would change anything other than maybe tweeters.

Just throwing this out there to see the range of opinions...

I love my system, its my favorite part about the whole car.

I like the sound system but it doesn't sound much better to me than my GF's 2000 Camry LE and that thing has been ragged on pretty badly. The bass response is nothing special, IMO. The imaging and high frequency response are a little better than hers though.

The JBL is cool but let's face it, it is "stock." After every car I have had I always had to change the stereo system out to an aftermarket one. Sounds so much better then stock especially with the I-POD adapter now.

Congratulations on your pleasure with the stock system!

...on the other hand... I would suggest you need to HEAR an "audiophile" system once... and you may change your mind... 8)

Here is my journey just for reference... but don't let anyone ELSE tell you what your ears are hearing! :D

(Personally, I though the stock was "tolerable" until I got my project system pieced together... but if you saw the "cheapo" construction/quality of the stock JBL speakers, etc... you would likely consider AT LEAST a speaker swap out. BIG DIFFERENCE just from that...)

Def, stock system is ok , But even a couple hundred on after-market speakers makes a big A$$ difference

audiophile and G35

Postby liltimmy1313 » Sat Oct 04, 2008 9:10 am

the g35 is a 35ooo+ luxury car so i would hope its better.

and as for an audiophiles car, it should be better than a stock JBL, thats why its an audiophiles car. BUT compared to the accord, sebring, mazda, and all other cars in a comparable range, it has a nice stereo. Far nicer than alot of cars. To me, it sounded as good as the BMW 3 series speakers, and that car is far more expensive. And of course, it isnt to be compared with infiniti, lexus, acura, or jags, but it doesnt require much upgrading to compete with those cars.

you usually will know if you have a good audio setup if your ears bleed before the sound starts to distort lol
