How to wire the front speakers

Postby gmendonc » Wed Apr 20, 2011 5:27 am

I replaced all the speakers in my Convertible with the exception of the front tweeters. In the front doors I put a pair of JVC CS-HX6947X which sound pretty good but because they come with tweeters the highs come across too strong in the car. So I wanted to disconnect the front factory tweeters but when I unplugged them the door speakers quit working. I thought of just shorting the speaker wires at the tweeter location but there's four wires coming into them and I don't know which ones are pos and neg. Originally I didn't want to run new speaker wires to the doors so instead I ran the wires to the old JBL amp location and tapped into the existing wiring. I did a search on this website for speaker wiring diagram but I couldn't find it. Anyone have any ideas?
