Well after searching around and calling around, I guess I really don't want to go through with all the trouble and I'll probably end up just buying an Aftermarket Navigation unit.

Everything is perfect except for a slight crack in the lower left corner of the faceplate but everything else is new.

Asking for:
$85 local
$100 shipped

Will post up pics tomorrow

BUMP

I just installed mine this week-end...and I burned an MP3 CD and I'm pretty happy with it...especially with the random function ! ;) Installation is not that hard when you know where to start. :)

I took it out of the shipping box and saw the crack so I didn't cause it just to let some people know. But, when i took apart my stock head unit i saw that the plugs were different and now it's just sitting in the box. I'll take pictures tomorrow for sure.

Post pics... does that one have the Sat and the iPod plug-in as well? Or do you still have to trade one for the other?

I didn't see any iPod connector. For pics, Mike (Down2Thec) already made tutorial showing some pics. I can do too but I think you will see it quicker with Mike's pics ! ;)

I didn't see any direct Aux connector but i see the Aux2car thing i think. Here are some pictures, as i stated there's a crack on the lower left of the face plate that the dumb shipping company (DHL) did probably throwing it on my front step.

The face plate can come off but I think the 06 SE that i have doesn't have buttons below the "Seek Track" and "Type Folder". But you could always try and use like a Rotary Tool to saw off that little tiny area and transfer the buttons from the '07

the 04-06 and 07 are the same... except 07 has not tape player and has MP3 compatibility and some feature like Sirius radio ready something like it... but all the rest is the same.

I didn't verify yet if the face of the HU can came off...at first sight I would say no...I know Mike (Down2Thec) open the guts and know all you want to know on the HU !

My 06 didn't have a tape player but it did not have a "text" button underneath the "type folder" button, instead it was on the upper right hand corner of the display.

The face can come off, looks like it's just 4 screws then it snaps right off.

Hmmm - wonder if you can order just the faceplate then?

If so, I'd definitely be interested! ;)

Jeff, the iPod plug on the 07 is in the litle cubby hole, not on the HU. So, you wouldn't have a connection on the HU. However, that plug in the cubby hole must connect somehow to that back of the HU, so I'd bet you could easily connect some kind of adapter.

You could fix that broken piece with some superglue, put some spackle on it, sand it down and buy a silver pen to color it in

When i looked at the crack all i really had to do is push it forward and it looked decent because there was no gap or bend. Maybe with superglue to fill in the crack it'll stick together and like Jerry said, just use a silver pen and it would go perfectly...maybe. Other than that, maybe you can order a face plate...who knows.

So anyone that wants it, i'll just drop the price down to $100 because you're going to have to buy materials to fix it up or a whole new face plate. I think $100 is a fair price for a pretty much new '07 JBL unit (Considering i paid $180) besides the face plate. :)

That is a good price, but couldn't you just return it because of the damage?
