Factory Woodgrain? Yours Peel/crack/fade??

I currently live with my grandmother, who owns a 99 XLE V6..
It has the factory (probobly dealer installed) woodgrain package..

Over the years it has discolored, like the sticker of the wanna-be wood, is coming apart from the shiny plastic part..

I told her today, i was tired of looking at it, a few friends of mine have camrys, and they dont have woodgrain.. So i took it off a few places. I took it off the shifter surround, the vents, and the defroster vents by the side windows.. It made a WORLD of difference to the inside of the car..
The door woodgrain doesnt look like its peeling too bad.. So i will wait until it starts..
Anyone else having this problem?

in my gen4 camry, the wood grain is still great, my only probelm is the drivers side door and the control pieces are starting to sag and not be 'flush fitted' like what we mentioned here:
