Postby ctbuhay » Sat Jan 28, 2006 11:07 am

so that alternator would work in my 02 V6 camry too huh? cuz i just got two new 12" kicker L5's with an infinity amp, rms 1300 watts @ 2ohm, with a pioneer premier DEH-P680MP, and will soon get a 6ych amp with new speakers, so i tihnk i'm thinking of doing that myself a bit later, now that you mention this.

Cool. Is there a model year of 3.0 Highlander to ask for or better. Do you have a NAPA part number?

Wouldn't you think the Camry 150 would be better from Mr. Alternator.com due to the 20 more amps?

I couldn't find anything on Napa's site for any of those numbers. I went to Toyota today to ask about the 130 alternator and the guy said that they would have to order it and it'll be around $420. He said that it probably wouldn't fit though. I'm going to take tomorrow off work and hit up some yards to find parts I've been needing, hopefully there's a Highlander I can rape.

I was hoping to get the part information from the guy and then just give it to my guy that works at another Toyota dealership so he can get it for me at cost but I'll see what I come up with tomorrow.

***EDIT*** I just called NAPA and they said that the manufacturer doesn't even have one. Well that just sucks.

With a core they want your old one AND want 309 for a remanufactured one (i.e. used). With a core price you pay them the $60 and when they get your old one, they'll refund it. I'd say if that's the case than $300 for a new one is a good deal. I went ahead and got an alternator, engine, transmission, chassis, airbags, sunroof, wheels, fenders, roof, steering wheel, etc, etc, etc for a 2006 Highlander V6 4x4 coming this week but I don't think my wife would appreciate me switching parts with her new car  .
