converting 99 clock to 2000-2001

Postby TMMK Toy » Wed Oct 17, 2007 7:33 pm

Wondering if its possible to convert my clock to the one from the 2000 and 2001 camries? My parents have a ce 2000 and its got the feature to show the temperature in fahrenheit and celcius. Anyway to do this on a 99? What all is involved and I imagine Id have to install sensors to read the temperature somewhere. Or is the sensor built in teh clock and just senses ambient air on the glass or what?

our camrys engineers are idiots- they'd rather put a sensor for a "LOW WINDSHIELD WASHER" light to come on rather than a useful thermometer. LOL.

^That or make thermometers in pre Gen-2 Solaras only available to those with automatic climates (but even then you still have to push the temp knob to see it), while it's even standard equipment on practically every Gen8+ Corolla with a tachometer-equipped gauge cluster.
