hi everyone!

well i'm waiting on a complete swap kit from gabe (trd4life) as we speak. so in this thread i'll post pics and blabla about my swap! (btw i'm swapping an automatic v6 1994 camry)

sooooooo lets post pics of what i have bought/made so far....

in preparation of the swap i cleaned my engine bay

got my findanza flywheel in! fidanza part number # 130881 for those interested (1mzfe)

speed source brass shift cable bushings

and my custom made resistor bank (3x10ohm 25w) to fool the auto ecu into thinking the shift solenoid are still connected

That resistor bank is sexy, sweet job. I'm curious if you'll be able to get the cruise control to work without any CELs - same with your resistor bank. When I tried the swap, Greg wasn't able to get around those two things. Good luck, hope it works out for you.

the thing that should help is that i have a 94 ecu witch is the first to have obd2... it should throw less codes... the cruise control is my biggest concern... i would really like to still being able to use it...

who needs cruise control?? the real question is i see a turbo in ur avatar :) is there any possibilities? i really wish i could swap my avalon but that'll be a hugee pain and hugee $ :(

yeah thats a turbo... the car is not currently force inducted but i'm planning it... thats a airesearch t04 turbo i have for another diy project...

hey guys got some time to post pics!!!

this is what i got on the pallet from gabe!

and then some painting, while i had all the clutch lines off i cleaned the fittings and applied some permatex anti-seize to the threads

installed the speed source brass bushings taking care to apply plenty of permatex anti-seize to the outside of the bushing (dont forget to also lube the pin before installing the cables on the trans

removed the 5 speed cluster bezel, now i just need to install it into my auto cluster to hide the gear indicator... also messed up with the odometer... damn these thing are so easy to play with!

yeah i messed the odo LOL was like 196*** miles.... i bringned it back to zero then jammed a a random number on it... dont worry i dont do that on my car!

yeah i was lucky, gabe provided me with all the parts i need! now i just need to book a date with my mechanic friend and at my other friend garage with a lift...

the swap is still in my workshop :( still needs 2 little parts from gabe and then needs to find time to actually swap the 5 speed :)

swap date scheduled for the 30-31 december!!!!!! so basically i should have a 5 speed in 2011 :lol:

a friend is letting me use his shop,lift,crane,tranny jack,torchs...

i'm going to be helped by a buddy of mine that works @ toyota! we think that we are able to pull it off in 2 days maybe less... but it may also take way longer lol

made a aluminium template for the master cylinder holes so i just have to position the template and center punch through it, then drill

i have readed and readed and readed all the 5 speed swap documentation all over TN and SG... i think i'm ready lol :lol:

made my custom led cluster about a week ago and i installed the 5 speed bezel gabe sent me. no auto buttons yayyyyy!
