Need some turbo expertise

A guy i know just smashed his tc he had a turbonetics kit on it and hes gona give me it for real cheap [he owes me big , i losta tooth for the guy], any way i got high compression pistons in my 2azfe right now, so should i sell those and buy low compression before the install , or will it be fine . I got about 2400 bucks in the motor right now , I dont want it to go down the drain

Uhh just buy it and slap it on... I have seen plenty of high compression car come out fine. You just wont get to play hard like the low compression guys do.


If your not confident in your motor and tuning skills dont buy it.

BOOST is not cheap....... Dont ever say cheap or that you can get it for cheap..... Thats Made in China talk

Don't make me add up my solara bill and supra bill for you.


And what do you have thats 2400 bucks in your motor?

Thanks for the opinion , but all im looking for is a simple yes or no . Will boost ona high copression engine twist my crank? And I think 600 clams is a nice price for a 5500 dollar kit.

over and over again....buy a fast car and make it faster. Your car will never break 13's.... and know that if it does it will still be slower than a bunchload of stock cars.

I find that it ia a great idea to turboed a Gen 2 Solara.

I think you better answer your question yourself by reading and learning

If I would have the choice I would make it low compression.

JE pistons 11-1 at 0.2 over $500
Carillo A beam rods $650
New studs $150
machined block $450

I did the disassemble and reassemble with one of my budies pricless lol.


Thats not counting my K&N intake and custom 2.5 pipe and flowmaster exhaust

I heard this some where before and always say it to people who say to me "sell your car and buy a fast one",any one can drive a fast car but it takes a enthusiest to take a slow and diffrent car and make it fast, thats whats its al about to me, i love my solara and always will , i love it when people have to ask me what it is

I like the sound of a high compression sleeper (kinda)... got any more info, stats or pics?
