Well, hope you enjoy your ride soon... in the meantime, keep researching on what could be the issue. Ask around with other people and similar kits, scion tc forums, etc., etc... you will find the fix eventually!

In the meantime... :sweet:

i've been talking with my shop pretty much everyday to get any update on my stalling issue.

they have tried everything they could think of, and what turbonetics guys suggest, but still have no luck.

i will take my throttle body, completely a part and clean them, and see if it will help. that would the last thing they can try, before change the tuning on unichip.

there's one unichip tuner here in cincinnati, but considering how much demand there is for unichip tuner around this area, i am a little suspicious about the tuner's experience.

the guys at my shop had not much experience with greddy e-manage, but they have ton's of experience with AEM.
I would love to go with AEM, but the price is a little bit too high for what i would like to pay.
right now, i'm considering greddy, split sec, and maybe AEM to replace my unichip (that only can be tuned at unichip dealer...)

i really wish if my car could run without any problem after i put turbo, but as always, whenever you do any custom work, there are some issue that will cost me extra time and money than i was originally planned.
i'm not that upset or disappointed since this is not the first time i go thru this all the problems....

anyways.. this wednesday or thursday, i will pick up my car even if it was fixed or not.
if it is fixed, it's good, if not, well.. i'll wait till i do the exhaust work done, so that the tuned to all the stuff i gonna have on my car.

will keep it updated here.

Tacti, not knowing much about turbos or your problem my suggestion would be to take your car to that Unichip programmer to see if they can fix the problem... if they can't fix it, should you pay for anything other than dyno?

What are the costs for the different options, those you are considering and not considering?

Also, when I asked the first time regarding auto vs manual turbo kits I was wondering on whether there are any additional requirements. Gen1-1.5 supercharger kits differed from auto to manual, right?

well, i can take my car to the unichip tuner.
definitely it is one option. however, the performance i can get from turbo and the safety of my engine is totally depending on the knowledge and experience of the tuner.

if i live in cali, and can go to tuner who has been working with unichip a lot, probably re-tuning the unichip will be the first choice without question (it'll save me some money).

but living in ohio, middle of no-where, the quality of the unichip tuner here is unknown.
i'll still contact him and see how good he seems.
if he does not have much experience of actually tuning a car with turbo, I rather pay more and let the guys who knows what they are doing, deal with my car.

better paying more now than later when i blow my engine due to the poor tuning... right?

I'm so jealous. My poor Solara hasn't moved in months.

I wish you well with your stalling problem. I hope you get it fixed soon.

Good luck!

Thank you so much.

I bought a Yaris to commute to and from work. I drove the Yaris so much that I neglected to drive the Solara. My Solara now has a dead battery.

It also needs lots of work.
-Time to change timing belt
-Time to drain and flush radiator
-Time for tune up
-I've got a bunch of little things I need to install: new plugs and wires, High temp thermostat, Jims fuel mod.

I just never seem to have the time to devote to my Solara. I'm sure I will soon enough.
