Tire inflation

How much PSI should I be putting into my tires?

I have always just done the typical 32 PSI because thats what my dad has always done... and I saw thats how much the stock tires are supposed to get.

I have 18 inch rims and Michelin HXMXM4 P235/45 R18 tires

If 32PSI worked pretty good for you then keep using that amount on your tires.

I usually pump 32-33 psi on my car's stock 16" tires.

I feel like it should be given more than 32... I mean I have not had any "problems" but it could hurt gas mileage.

I believe the bigger the rim/lower the profile the higher the PSI is needed... therefore you putting the same amount of PSI into 16" rims as an 18" rim doesnt make sense.

when I worked in the tire business, anytime a customer went with a larger wheel/lower profile tire, we always bumped the pressure up to about 38 to 40 psi. That's about where mine are right.

What size rims do you have? I just upped mine to 36 for now.. the edges of my tires are completely bald (well the ones in the back, they spent WAYYY too much time up front from lack of rotating for the first 15k miles) but the middle of all tires are fine... though do need replacing soon. I spotted a gen 2.5 with 18 inch rims... maybe ill have to switch em out lol :evilbat:
