Transponder Key

FYI Needed a new transponder key. Bought one off of eBay. Had a locksmith cut and program. Total cost $47. Works like a charm. The locksmith did tell me the small hand held computer cost $12000.00 and $500 per year for the updated codes.

Dealership quotes = $95 -$140 for key PLUS $40-$75 for program. (What a rip -off)

Also...all of the program tips on the internet would not work on my 07 Solara.

If you want the name of the eBay seller let me know.

Sorry I didn't reply...just saw the question.

Here is the link of the key that I bought...it worked perfectly.

I tried for 3 days to program the key myself. Over and over again using EVERY code found on the internet. I could not get it to accept the codes tried.

Not all locksmiths have the computer. Call before you go and ask them specifically if the have the computer that can reprogram the NEW key.

Cheers. :drinking:

Hey guys, I too need another key and key fob. Know of any good deals out there? Also, if you know of any SoCal locksmiths that cut and program, please let me know. Thanks!
