possible throttle prob

Postby OkcSolarafreak » Sun May 01, 2011 8:44 pm

Recently my car has had this strange problem. My gears feel like they are sticking but its not a trans problem. Whenever its in first ( its an automatic) it doesnt want to shift to second until i over rev and let off the gas, and than its fine until i try to floor it and my rpm shoot up but my throttle has no response it just keeps going like im not doing anything and wont shift. I replaced the tps and going to replace the maf sensor. Any ideas what the problem might be or solutions would help me out alot.

its a 99 v6(1mz), its looking like a open or short circuit from the codes i pulled either the knock sensor, valve posi or the heated o2 bank sens1, im starting to think my computer is going out but im not sure. also i recently added some fuel system cleaner and these problems occured the next day for the most part.

Since you were under there replacing one sensor, you should have gotten the other one too. The sensor before the cat is the hardest of the 3 to replace. The knock sensor rewire will take like 10 minutes.
